The conference will take place at Palacio San Martín in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Palacio San Martín has a privileged location in the heart of Buenos Aires, capital of Tango.
The Palacio San Martín was built between 1905 and 1909 by architect Alejandro Christophersen, an exponent of L'Ecole des Beaux Arts, at the request of Mercedes Castellanos de Anchorena. It was inspired by the project "Hotel in Paris Banquier pour un riche", with which Jean Louis Pascal, Christophersen's teacher, won the "Grand Prix de Rome"- highest award for architecture of the time-in 1866.
This building is a National Historic Landmark and is currently used for ceremonial purposes by the Ministry of Foreign Relations. It has its own museum, that holds works of Argentine and American artists of the twentieth century as Antonio Berni, Pablo Curatella Manes, Lino Enea Spilimbergo, Roberto Matta, among others. The Palacio San Martín is in front of Plaza San Martin, one of the most beautiful parks in the city. It is placed close to the city center which has many cultural and leisure options, such as museums, cinemas, libraries, variety of restaurants, pubs and cafés.
